Adventure in Xoxafí

Xoxafi, is a set of caves. It is formed by the main cave of about 20 meters, both on the same wall of the canyon of the same name.

Inside, Xoxafi has two tunnels: the first descends 80 meters underground in a 600-meter route and has an "extreme" mode in which you rappel down to 100 meters and the route increases to 1 kilometer and more than two hours long. The second tunnel contemplates a rappel of up to 45 meters and much more adrenaline.

Inside the cave there are stairs of up to 20 meters that date back to revolutionary times and that are the descent route between the different levels.

Xoxafi (pronounced dzo-dza-fi), one of the most important caves in Mexico, is a refuge for three species of bats in danger of extinction, which feed on fruit, pollen and nectar are important pollinators and thanks to them we have plants such as agaves, ceibas, amates, plums, sapotes, guavas, capulines and pitayas. Only three species of the 138 that exist in Mexico feed on blood and, for your peace of mind, they do not inhabit Xoxafi.
